KUCHING (Sept 20): Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg visited SK Abang Aing in Sri Aman today, highlighting the state government’s commitment to upgrading Sarawak’s aging school infrastructure.
He spent about 30 minutes at the school, receiving a briefing on the ongoing upgrading project at the Juma’ani Hall from Dr Cassidy Morris, director of the state Public Works Department (JKR).
SK Abang Aing, identified as one of Sarawak’s dilapidated schools, is undergoing major renovations including the reconstruction of Blocks A, B, and C, a new toilet block, and a Sesco sub-station.
Construction began on Aug 12 and is expected to be completed by June 11, 2027, reflecting the state’s focus on providing safer and more modern learning environments for its students.
